AVON ANEW Genics Treatment Concentrate Review

AVON ANEW Genics Treatment Concentrate

AVON ANEW Genics Treatment Concentrate is the newest addition to the AVON ANEW Range of skin care products and this particular product comes with big promises that I personally find hard to believe, they seem a little to good to be true!  But I bought the product for myself as I was in need of a new serum/moisturiser anyway and thought why not try this.

The product, contains a patented Youthgen Technology* and promises:

  • Overnight: lines and wrinkles look diminished
  • In 3 Days: Deep wrinkles look plumped
  • In 2 weeks: Dramatically reduces the look of age spots and discolourations
  • In 8 weeks: Takes up to 10 years off your look (Based on a consumer study of 157 people.)

Pretty hefty promises!!!  Some I suspect only surgery could achieve!

So the big question is, does it work?

My initial impressions of this product are so over whelmingly positive, it has after only a week of using it changed the texture of my skin and it has notably improved the appearance of old scaring I have.  My skin feels smoother and looks brighter, and yes, I think some fine lines do indeed look diminished.  Whether I will look 10 years younger before Christmas and need to start carrying ID to get served alcohol in bars.. well I don’t know, but I’ll keep you updated.

I started this product after a recent disastrous trial with Kiehls ultra facial oil free lotion for Cornflakegirl aka Paula, where the Kiehl’s product dried the heck out of my skin and brought me out in a weird red rash on my forehead and nose, my newly acquired AVON ANEW Genics Treatment Concentrate repaired my skin over the course of about 3 days, which given the state of my skin before felt like a miracle cure to me!

You apply it every morning and evening on both your face and neck, after your normal cleansing routine and before your moisturiser. A small amount goes a long way, one pump and a half pumps is enough for your entire face and neck.  It absorbs quickly and leaves your skin feeling soft.  This product does have a fragrance, and at first I didn’t like it, that said, I’m still not too hot on it now but I’ve gotten use to it.

Ideally you need to allow this product about 15 minutes to settle in before applying makeup, so I tend to apply it just after my shower in the morning, by the time I dry my hair it’s well settled in before putting on my makeup. This product performs well as a base for makeup and there’s no real need for other products, which is great when you are in a rush to get out of the house in the morning.    On the down side there is no SPF in this product so ensure either your moisturiser or makeup has a suitable SPF.

One pump of AVON ANEW Genics Treatment Concentrate

The packaging is beautiful if not a bit over the top and the bottle itself is quite pretty and comes in an orange to brown glass bottle with a pump dispenser.  The glass bottle is perhaps a bit dodgy on bathroom tiles, but I keep mine in a carpeted room, so no fears of dropping it and smashing it.

AVON ANEW Genics Treatment Concentrate Packaging. Fancy!

There are two different versions, a concentrate and a cream, the cream is for very dry skin and is probably more suited to mature skin types, the concentrate is slightly lighter and it suits my combination/oily skin really well.

Price:  The price is €39 but will be available for a special introductory price of €32 for the concentrate and €26 introductory offer for the treatment cream which will normally be €30.50.  They are a bit pricey for an Avon product but the Anew range is fabulous.  For the first few weeks of its launch there is a free gift of a makeup bag and a range of ANEW products (cleanser, deep wrinkle concentrate filler, eye cream, day cream).  See avon.ie

Availability:  This product is available from your Avon Representative from the end of September.

Overall: I genuinely really like this product and it seems to doing what it says on the tin, and I know some might say I am biais as I am an AVON Representative on the side, but would I lie to you?

*Youthgen Technology according to AVON:  In skin cells, Youth Gene activity declines with age.  The patented Youthgen Technology in ANEW Genics is designed to help boost Youth Gene activity, and help skin cells to act healthier and younger, reigniting your skin cell youth power.  This technology also helps to increase the production of collagen and hyaluronic acid, which are key components to youthful looking skin.  (based on in Vitro experiments in 3D reconstructed skin)

This is so strange…. It isn’t here in the United States- Why? Does anyone know? Even a Senior Rep and a Local AVON Rep “Claim” that they know “Nothing” about this Concentrated Serum….That “There is only a Cream” “Definitely not a Serum as well”

Too bad; it looks nice..I just can’t figure this out. Would Love to try it, but I am guessing we will have to wait and see here in the U.S. – Thanks for your REVIEW : )

I have neglected my skin all my life. I wash and use a moisturizer before bed about 10 times a year. I have good genes but I am starting to look my age which I’ve avoided most of my adult years. I am 63.

As someone who loves La Mer, La Prairie, and all things nearly unaffordable, it’s with great shock for me to realize that Genics is the best skincare product I’ve ever tried. I’m actually getting compliments on my skin for the first time in my life, and I grew up a sun-worshipper (so I had plenty of damage to correct). Fine lines are reduced, discoloration is disappearing, and my used-to-be-always-red face doesn’t even need foundation anymore. I’m in love with Genics!

I come across everything too late. I am leaving a comment hoping you found another sample somewhere. I have used everything I can afford to get my hands on. i like the looks of this but they always start out at a hefty price. I don’t want to spend the money and find out I am the ONE person it won’t work on. I’m 46 and looking for a miracle.

sorry forgot to add. I am 35, so will they be suitable for me, or will there be any side effects as my skin ages? thank you

@Vicky, you use either the concentrate OR the cream, not both. The ANEW Genics cream is more suited to older skin as it is heavier, so given you are only 35 I reckon you should use the Genics Concentrate if you are interested in this product. I’m not quite sure what you mean by ‘side effects’, if there are any negative ones I’m really not aware of them? have you come across something to suggest there might be side effects? I’m 40 and find this product fantastic, it has really helped reduce the lines and wrinkles that I have, I swear some have disappeared! and the condition of my skin is the best it has ever been. I only wished it was available when I was 35. Best of luck. x

    thank you very much 🙂
about the side effects I mean, if I stop using them, is it possible that my skin will return to its original possition, and moreover that it may be worse than before?
I have slight sagging problem withing my chin area, that is why I am looking for a good treatment for years. I have used many products, Estee Lauder Perfectionist was very good, and Clinique Repairwear Laser Focus serum was also good for my sagging problem. but none of them gave immediate results like Avon Genics did. Let me explain:
I used a Genics Concentrate sample, it was amazing. I got great results after one night, I couldn’t belive my eyes! my sagging problem nearly dissappeared. but you know samples are very small, after it is finished after 2 nights, I used lancome genifique concentrate sample the third night. and the fourth night I didn’t use any serum, just my regular Lancome night cream I have been using for a month. and in the morning after 4th night, the results were gone, moreoever I noticed more sagging than before within my chin area in the morning thereafter. so I couldn’t be sure which one (Avon genics or Lancome genifique) caused it. or is it because I used 2 different strong serums in 3 nights in a row, so that may caused sagging..
I searched on the web a lot, and couldn’t find any information about it. the results I got with Avon Genics was amazing. but I am worried if it is possible that my skin may got worse in time, especially if I stop using it..

      Hi Vicky

Interesting problem you have encountered. I will post your comment on to my blog over the coming days as all comments and opinions are as valid as the next. I’ve been travelling and have been off my blog for over 6 weeks (naughty blogger!!!) Re the issue of stopping using serums etc and your skin returning to its original position, no skin cream can really reverse the effects of time, particularly with deep wrinkles or sagging, as much as I love Anew Genics, and it has done a nice job of improving the appearance of fine lines I have but there is nothing in any cream that can repair deep lines or sagging as these are caused by the breaking or tearing of the skins collegen. I was told by a beauty therapist that, if when you gently pull the skin in a tautening way either side of a wrinkle, if it remains visible then that’s collegen damage that only dermal fillers can mask. Sagging is the same issue, it’s like when someone looses weight and is left with loose skin, the collegen is broken and the skin simply cannot spring back into place, not without medical intervention!

Most products will state that the effects you see is only temporary and usually only remain effective with continued used, (always look for the small print, look on the product websites and read the conditions carefully). And usually when you stop using a product you loose these temporary effects and sometimes not using it shows a stark difference to how you looked when you did use it – if that makes sense, that said I’m amazed you saw that much of a difference over the course of a few days. Skin cells take 28 + days to replace themselves, so if you are 35 it takes 35 days for cells to repair themselves. (28 days for under 28 years of age, then add a day for every year you are over 28 years old) so I can’t imagine what caused that to happen to your skin after a few days.

Coincidentally I recently got a sample of Lancome genifique too, it was part of a gift set that was free with purchase, I was quite excited to try it as I never would have bought it, and I tried it for the first time yesterday and my skin broke out in tiny blister like white heads (my bog standard reaction to things that are too rich for my skin type) I never got this reaction with Avon Genics. Take from that what you will, I’m not saying one is better than the other, but Lancomes serum just doesn’t suit me.

I can’t offer ‘expert’ advice on these products, I can only share my knowledge and experiences, but in my opinion if you find something that works for you, then keep using it, and know this, doing nothing is a guaranteed way of ensuring your skin won’t get any better.

I don’t know if that is of any use to you? I hope so?

I’d love to know how you get on… best of luck. x

    Hi Makeupgal,
thank you very much for the detailed explanation.
my sagging problem is very slight actually, can be considered normal for my age. even some people say that I look younger than I am. but you see, I am obsessed with my skin. I really don’t know how I got that amazing results after even one night with Genics concentrate.. when I read your comment, I even couldn’t belive it too. but I really have experienced it, have no idea how it happened still!! maybe it was because I slept very well during that night, and with the concentrate I saw my skin looking great. I don’t know still what caused it too..

I couldn’t stop myself, so I bought Avon Genics both cream and concentrate. (I live in another country that is why I couldn’t buy from you. if I were there I would actually contact you) I began with the cream 2 days ago. the results are not such effective as I experienced with the concentrate sample. maybe because this one is cream (not concentrate), as I have read in the catalogue that concentrate has twice the formula than the cream. or another reason can be, that they make the samples better to make the customers buy the original sizes, you know 😉
anyway I am satisfied with the Genics cream for now. Thank you very much for the information that I have to wait to see more visible results for at least a month. it makes sense what you wrote about skin cells to take 28 + days to replace themselves; so I have decided to use it for longer time, before deciding on the effects. your comments really helped me to decide, I can never thank you enough. I am using the Genics cream at nights only, as it is written on the box to use it once a day. I use another day cream during the day. I will write again about my experiences.

I have searched on the web about Lancome genifique, and a lot of people are not satisfied with it too. Lancome’s another serum High Resolution Collaser 5x is better than Lancome genifique. I have used Collaser 5x previously and I was satisfied with it, but I think Lancome genifique is not that good. actually I didn’t use it for a long time, maybe I will try that again later. but now I want to be sure about Avon Genics. It seems that it will be my favourite for a long time 🙂

thank you very much again 🙂

hI, I am a part time avon rep and aged 54 and I have used avon’s anew creams for quite a while and their serums for lift and pro and dermafill. which have done an amazing job but
then comes along A new genetics I am using the cream at moment and wow love it.
Most people cant believe I am 54, I can honestly say that using these products have taken at least 10 years off my face which was starting to get a bit sagging under the chin and neck and the creases running from your nose to the outer mouth was starting to get quite deep.
Pro lift and dermafil helped with that. but the anew genetics has finished the job off.

hi.. im from the phils and i agree, Avon Genics works great for me! i love it.. i’m 36 and having problem with very fine wrinkles, they are all over my forehead and around my eyes. I am skeptical to use the product at first since it’s kinda expensive, the price of each bottle is around £27 good thing it comes with a very elegant watch FREE (worth £24) so i bought one.. now i have been using Avon Genics for 2 weeks and my face feels so smooth and firm, wrinkles are not totally gone, but it’s lesser these days..

    Every woman should try this…

Hi Puja, I would imagine that 22 is a bit young to use this product, but most certainly I think you’re never too young to start using a decent daily moisturizer, but perhaps something lighter might be more appropriate for you? Take care. x
